I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in working with men, boys and couples.
Prior to starting my private practice, I worked as an in-home and in-school therapist with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Before that, I worked with incarcerated men and women. Through these professional experiences, I gained the skills to work with a diverse population of clients with a wide range of mental health challenges.
My areas of experience include:
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Co-parenting (with your ex or current partner)
Family Therapy (with traditional, non-traditional, and blended families)
I received a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in January, 2013. I received a Bachelor of Arts in History from St. Olaf College in 1992.
Therapy is a second career for me. I worked as a professional musician and songwriter for eleven years. After leaving the music business, I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home dad with my son and daughter for six years. When it was time to return to a career, I decided to pursue a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
When not working as a therapist, I am raising my two children as a single father (and co-parenting with their mother), spending time with family and friends, or pursuing my passions for music, reading, and exercise. I feel very fortunate to work in a field that I love.
